There are some fantastic attractions in north Norfolk, which can be enjoyed any time of the year. There is something to suit all interests including adventure and theme parks, nature reserves, zoos and animal centres, heritage railways, museums, public gardens and parks and stately houses with their stunning gardens.
The huge array of award winning family outdoor and indoor attractions means there is something for everyone, whatever time of year you visit and whatever the weather. Take a journey back in time aboard steam railways including the longest narrow gauge steam railway in the world. A must visit are the famous annual 1940s steam railway events and steam galas. There are even experience days where you can drive a steam train or military tank.

There are attractions for fun family days out, even on rainy days, including zoos, animal parks and farms, natural parks and nature reserves, letting you experience unique north Norfolk widlife in its habitat. You can get hands on with pond dipping and even feed animals at the zoo!

For young adventurers, there is an award winning treetop adventure park, Bewilderwood, as well as outdoor adventure play, nature's way at Pensthorpe Natural Park (with Hootz House, that lets you experience the great outdoors, indoors!).
There are several impressive historical stately homes to explore. These houses arose from a past of prosperous landowners and rich proceeds from trade with the continent in goods like wool. Many fine buildings, stately homes and churches were built in this era, and can still be explored today.

National Trust properties include Felbrigg and Blickling Hall and Holkham Hall with its estate is ideal for a family day out. Houghton Hall has beautiful gardens with unique art exhibits and roaming deer as well as a toy soldier museum.

If you're looking for a thrilling day out, jump over to Fakenham Racecourse, the only national hunt racecourse in Norfolk. Having run for over 100 years, it is a popular day out and an exciting experience. It can be a family affair as children aged 17 and under are admitted free (must be accompanied by an adult) and there are often family fun days. A firm favourite in the social diary is Ladies' Day. There are several fixtures throughout the year including Easter, Christmas and the New Year period.
