Wells and Walsingham Light Railway

About

The famous Wells & Walsingham Light Railway steams between the Norfolk seaside town of Wells-next-the-Sea and the beautiful Abbey village of Walsingham. Our stations are located in delightful North Norfolk communities - the hustle and bustle of the beach and shops at Wells and the quaint Saxon village of Walsingham on the banks of the River Stiffkey. Both well worth exploring on your big adventure.

Climb aboard, sit back and enjoy a half-hour trip through beautiful countryside whilst you take in the evocative sights, sounds and smells of steam travel. Your unforgettable trip back in time clanks over and under bridges, chuffs past a hill-fort and through a real ghost platform.

Snacks are available from the Signal Box Café and a selection of dining areas plus a play area of miniature carriages to enjoy before or after your adventure on the train. During the holidays there’s always something here for kids (and grown-ups). The WWLR crew are always planning special new activities and events for our young passengers too so follow us on social media for updates.

Children 4 and under go free. Dogs welcome and free if room (you may be asked to sit in the covered carriages if chickens down the line).

If buggies can be folded we have room to carry them - if just doing a return trip we have a secure buggy park at Wells.

No need to book. Just turn up, join the queue and pay your fares and parking to the Guard.
