About

The award-winning beach at Wells forms part of the Holkham Estate. The beach continues eastward but can be cut off by the tide which does come in very quickly. A siren can be heard when the tide is coming in. The location is designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Nesting birds can also be found on the beach. In the town there are fish and chip shops, ice cream and rock shops. Visitors can also go crab fishing from the shore.

There is a toilet block at the far end of the woods, next to the slope to the beach.

During the main seaon, you can hop onto the Wells Beach bus from the football club car park in Wells down, down to the beach. Dogs are permitted. The bus service includes a fully electric bus and a 1951 Leyland Tiger. The bus service runs most days from Easter until October – click here for a timetable.

Dogs are also allowed on Wells Beach, but please be aware there is a small section of beach that is designated dog-free.
