The award-winning beach at Wells forms part of the Holkham Estate. The beach continues eastward but can be cut off by the tide which does come in very quickly. A siren can be heard when the tide is coming in. The location is designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Nesting birds can also be found on the beach. In the town there are fish and chip shops, ice cream and rock shops. Visitors can also go crab fishing from the shore.

Beach Access Points
• There are steps to the beach over the dunes from the west end of the car park.
• There is a ramp to the beach from the car park and end of Beach Road.
• There is no formal disabled access over the actual beach but a solid footway runs for about 50m westward from the beach access in front of the coast watch lookout.
• There are no beach wheelchairs available.
• There are several flights of steps to supplement access by ramps. All steps have handrails.

On the Beach
• There are RNLI Lifeguards on the beach from July to September 10am to 6pm daily.
• First aid is available from the Lifeguards when operating.
• The Lifeboat house on the beach is often open to visitors. There has been a lifeboat at Wells for over a hundred and fifty years, the first RNLI lifeboat was stationed here in 1869.
