With a range of walking and cycling trails to suit all abilities, north Norfolk is ideal for exploring by foot or bike, at any time of the year, with magnificent coastal and countryside views along the way.
From the striped cliffs at Hunstanton, to West Runton on the fossil rich Deep History Coast, to Happisburgh, where the earliest signs of human habitation within Europe were discovered, the coast is varied and fascinating. With its vast expanses of sand dunes, pinewoods, pebble beaches and rock pools, north Norfolk beaches are hard to beat.
Many are Blue Flag beaches and most are suitable for dog walking. At the end of a sunny day, you will be treated to magnificent sunsets.
Explore inland and you will find parks and gardens as well as traditional market towns. Visit Fakenham with its famous racecourse and flea market, and spend time in pretty Burnham Market, a shopper's paradise with its clothing boutiques, art galleries and tea shops. Head to Holt with its Georgian architecture, antique shops, galleries and cafes and take a trip to historical Aylsham on the River Bure for artisan food shops.
Surrounding the market towns is north Norfolk's breath taking countryside. Stunning all year round, it is perfect for horse riding, bird watching, walking, cycling and is home to unique wildlife and nature. Weaving its way through the countryside is the man-made Broads National Park, which can be explored by foot, boat or bike.
