Hoveton and Wroxham

Wroxham and Hoveton are on the opposite banks of the River Bure in the Broads National Park. There is a bustling community of places to stay and eat as well as being a hub for boat hire and trips. There are fabulous attractions as well as walking and cycling trails to enjoy.

Wroxham is known as the ‘Capital of the Broads’, as it became first centre for boating holidays on the Broads when railways arrived in the late 19^th century. The area still remains the largest and most popular location for a boating holiday. 

Hoveton is reached by crossing over Wroxham Bridge which was built in 1619 and here you will see the famous Roys of Wroxham department store which was founded in 1895; it is the largest village store in the world! Here you will also find a supermarket, department store and toy shop, and there is a range of local shops and places to eat.

The area is home to some fantastic attractions including Wroxham Barns, Wroxham Miniature Worlds, Bewilderwood, Hoveton Hall and Gardens and you can even take a steam railway train to Aylsham from Wroxham. You can follow a walking trail or hire a bike to explore the Broads National Park. From Wroxham, there are plenty of options to hire a cruiser for a break, hire a day boat or take a river boat trip.
