Willow leaf baskets created at a willow weaving workshop

About

The Coddiwomplers, Emma and Stuart, run a variety of willow weaving workshops at Deepdale Farm, North Norfolk. Both are teachers and basket weavers based in South Norfolk. Stuart has been honing his craft for over 15 years, with Emma joining as apprentice a few years ago, but she is now a fully fledged member of the team.

Together they provide a fun, supportive environment in which to learn the craft of willow weaving.

Our willow weaving workshops are held in the picturesque surrounding of our woodland barn, Downs Barn.

Both the morning and afternoon sessions in September will create willow leaf baskets, with each focussing on the techniques required for weaving and basketry. Craft a beautiful basket, ideal for serving bread or fruit, or simply to display your craft skills in your home.

Morning session: 10am – 1pm
Afternoon session 2 – 5pm

Each course has a maximum of 10 participants which provides plenty of opportunity for support throughout the session. These three-hour workshops are suitable for beginners, so no previous experience of willow weaving is necessary. However, some manual dexterity and hand strength will be required. There is a minimum age of 18.
