About
On the eroding cliff edge, in the fictional Norfolk village of Suffenham, pensioner David awaits the oncoming storm that threatens his home.
When he refuses to evacuate, a tense standoff ensues, and he is forced to endure a string of visitors who think they can talk some sense into him. As the storm hits, David begins to wonder if he's the only sane one left…
Inspired in part by the ever eroding cliffs of Happisburgh, On The Edge is a funny, fast moving play that follows a delightfully mismatched group of characters thrown together over three increasingly farcical hours.
On The Edge, by Rob White was one of the winners of the 2025 Coastal Playwriting Competition, which was devised and hosted by our Theatre President, Suranne Jones.
