About

Poppyland Brewery occupies a small section of what was Allen’s Garage in West Street Cromer. The brewery was set up in 2012 by Martin Warren with the aim of producing small batches of top-quality beer using unusual processes and ingredients to produce “different and interesting” beers.

Beer drinkers appreciate quality and they welcome something that’s rare and out of the ordinary. Poppyland beers are strong, flavoursome and have an impact.

It is beer that’s based in north Norfolk, using barley grown and malted in locally, plus ingredients sometimes locally foraged but not excluding anything from anywhere in the world.

Beer is brewed in small quantities 200 – 300 litres and either bottled or casked. All operations, from the formulation of the recipe to the design of the labels, is carried out in house.

Towards the end of 2019, the brewery branched into gin production with the view of offering gins that were as unique as the beers.

The brewery is based in the now defunct Allen’s Garage in West Street, it is a very small micro- brewery with a brew capacity of 2.5BBL (approx. 400 litres gross).

All the brewing is carried out on the premises along with maturation, fermentation, cask conditioning, casking and bottling, it is a small but perfectly formed operation.

If you wish to visit the brewery on an ad-hoc basis please drop by and if we are there we will give you a quick tour. If you would like a more formal tour and taste some of the beer please to arrange a visit.

Beer is always available from the brewery although obviously due to the limited quantity of some brews and the local demand, some beers disappear off the shelves very quickly – order early to avoid disappointment.

Orders can be placed by email to dave@poppylandbrewery.com or by calling 07802 160558.
