About
Welcome to Dalegate Market, the independent retail site with shops & Deepdale Cafe in Burnham Deepdale. The shopping centre is on the A149 coast road, approximately half way between Hunstanton and Wells-next-the-Sea in the heart of the beautiful North Norfolk Coast. The centre is a major North Norfolk Coast hub, offering a place to relax, shop, eat, drink and connect with friends and family.
There's great food and drink from Deepdale Cafe, offering breakfast, lunch, tea, coffee and cake. The shopping site is home to mainly independent shops - Deepdale Stores supermarket & fuel station (petrol & diesel), Fat Face clothing & accessories shop, Creek Norfolk clothing & souvenirs shop, Relish jewellery & accessories, One Stop Nature Shop, The Hare & The Hen gallery (including Philippa Lee pottery), and Driftwood Glass Studio. The shops are joined by Deepdale Bike Hire, and Deepdale Visitor Information Centre (TIC).
Dalegate Market welcomes Pop Up Shops each week from March until Christmas.
We also host various events at Dalegate Market, including Open Air Theatre, the Orchard Stage of Deepdale Festival, workshops and more. See our events calendar for more details.
Dalegate Market is popular with visitors, tourists and locals, whether they are shopping for the essentials like bread and milk, or spoiling themselves (or others) with presents and gifts such as jewellery, clothing, binoculars, art and crafts. Come and join us for some retail therapy for wonderful items that you won't find on the high street.
The site fits well with Deepdale Farm (organic farm) and Deepdale Camping & Rooms. There are also many other things to do and see in the village - Brancaster Staithe & Burnham Deepdale.

Public Transport Directions
Accessible by Public Transport: Kings Lynn station is 25 miles away.
Coastliner Bus Service The Coastliner Bus Service 36 (used to be called Coasthopper) stops at Dalegate Market and is a brilliant service, running approximately every 1/2 an hour during the Summer and every hour during the Winter. The service runs both East and West along the North Norfolk Coast, stopping in most villages including King's Lynn, Hunstanton, Burnham Market, Wells-next-the-Sea and Fakenham. More information on the service can be found at www.lynxbus.co.uk
Norfolk Coast Path The Norfolk Coast Path heads both East and West along the North Norfolk Coast and can be accessed down the lane opposite Dalegate Market. The path offers wonderful walking along sea walls, across boardwalks and beaches. You can link up with the Coasthopper at many points along the path. More information on the path can be found at www.nationaltrail.co.uk
Cycling Most of the A149 coast road is ok to cycle and there are lots of quiet country lanes inland. From the East (Burnham Market direction), the easiest route is over Whiteway Road. From the West (Docking & King's Lynn direction), the easiest route is down Dalegate Lane. National Cycle Route No1 passes a couple of miles inland. Remember you can hire bikes from Deepdale Bike Hire.
Coaches Coach parties are welcome at Dalegate Market, although we would highly recommend booking in advance if you want to eat at Deepdale Cafe, as it can be busy throughout the year. There is good parking for coaches in the layby opposite Dalegate Market. Many coach parties combine a visit to Dalegate Market with St Mary's Church on the opposite side of the coast road and the National Trust owned Brancaster Staithe Harbour. Please see the Group Visits page.
Trains The nearest train station is King's Lynn, which has direct trains from Cambridge and London King's Cross. By changing at Ely and Cambridge you can also catch trains from Stansted Airport, Peterborough and further afield. There is also a station at Sheringham, which has trains to Norwich. The Coasthopper bus service connects with trains at both King's Lynn and Sheringham. Although there are occasional restrictions, you can normally bring your bike on the train.
