With unique gifts, artisan crafts and local produce in abundance, north Norfolk is the place to go for Christmas markets, fairs and shopping. It’s a great opportunity to pick up gifts you can’t find on the high street as well as enjoy some seasonal produce, while getting in the festive spirit. Here’s a round-up of some of the markets and fairs taking place in November and December 2019.

Sandringham Park is holding its Christmas Fair between 15 - 17 November. With stalls selling unique handmade crafts, foods and gifts, you’re bound to find something just right for someone you know. (Adults £9, children £3).

The popular Holt Hall Christmas Fair, 23 and 24 November between 9.30am - 5pm. is set in the impressive house nestled in 75 acres of parkland and woods just outside Holt. As you walk in, you’ll be greeted with a 15-foot Christmas tree and log fire. In the Hall, there will be over 65 stalls showcasing an inspiring array of innovative and quality Christmas gifts ranging from local food and drink, clothing, crafts, paintings, children's books, Christmas wreaths, decorations, glassware, art and candles. Entry only by ticket available at timed intervals. (Tickets are £3.50 per person and under 5s are free).

Creake Abbey’s Christmas Gift Fair, on 23 November between 10am – 3pm will have over 60 stalls selling decorations, wreaths, food and drink, local art and crafts and a great variety of gifts including homewares, clothing and jewellery. There is free admission and parking. The Creake Abbey Food Hall will be bursting with festive cheeses, hams and other foodie treats.

Pensthorpe Christmas Market, on 24 November 10am - 4pm (free entry).
Escape the hustle and bustle of the busy high street and browse food, drink and craft stalls. There is something for everyone included jewellery, homeware, boutique food producers, toys and lots of other goodies. Watch the Christmas lights being switched on and enjoy live music to get that festive feel! There's even complimentary mulled wine and mince pies for members! Special event offer – reduced entry into the park for all visitors (under 3’s free).

The ninth annual Dalegate Christmas Market takes place on 29 November to 1 December, in the charming village of Burnham Deepdale. There will be more than 120 local artisans and producers setting out their stalls in large marquees, the backpacker’s barn and St Mary’s church. An ideal chance to look for unusual gifts, decorations, jewellery, toys, books as well as enjoy seasonal food, drink and beer. There will also be plenty of entertainment throughout the weekend including live music. Entry and car parking is free.

Holkham Festive Food Fair is taking place on 14 and 15 December from 10am-4pm. Taking place in the stunning Lady Elizabeth Wing on the Holkham Estate, there will be stalls selling locally made produce from Norfolk producers as well as foodie gifts. Enjoy music and live cookery demonstrations.

To find the ideal gift, head to Holkham to the Courtyard Gift Shop on 14, 21 and 28 November between 4-6.30pm, when there will be Christmas Shopping Evenings.

As well as the Christmas fairs and markets, north Norfolk is superb for shopping in the run up to the festive season. Burnham Market, Holt, Wells, Sheringham and Cromer are great for Christmas shopping.

The gift shops in venues across the area offer individual and delightful gifts and decorations. Pop to Pensthorpe Natural Park, Wroxham Barns and the National Trust’s Blickling Hall and Felbrigg Hall, to browse in beautiful settings.
