With unique gifts, artisan crafts and local produce in abundance, north Norfolk is the place to go for Christmas markets, fairs and shopping. It’s a great opportunity to pick up gifts you can’t find on the high street as well as enjoy some seasonal produce, while getting in the festive spirit. Here’s a round-up of some of the markets and fairs taking place in November and December 2017.
Sandringham Park is holding its Christmas Fair between 17- 19 November. With stalls selling unique handmade crafts, foods and gifts, you’re bound to find something just right for someone you know. (Adults £7, children £2).
Sandringham Park Christmas Fair
The popular Holt Hall Christmas Fair, 25 and Sunday 26 November is set in the impressive house nestled in 75 acres of parkland and woods just outside Holt. As you walk in, you’ll be greeted with a 15-foot Christmas tree and log fire. In the Hall, there will be over 50 stalls showcasing an inspiring array of innovative and quality Christmas gifts ranging from local food and drink, clothing, crafts, paintings, children's books, Christmas wreaths, decorations, glassware, art and candles. Entry only by ticket available at hourly intervals between 10am and 2pm. (Tickets are £2.97 per person and under 5s are free).
Holt Hal Christmas Fair
Creake Abbey’s Christmas Gift Fair, on 25 November between 10am– 3pm has over 50 stalls selling decorations, wreaths, food and drink, local art and crafts and a great variety of gifts including homewares, clothing and jewellery. There is free admission and parking. The Creake Abbey Food Hall will be bursting with festive cheeses, hams and other foodie treats.
Pensthorpe Christmas Craft Market, on Sunday 26 November 10am- 4pm.
Escape the hustle and bustle of the busy high street and browse over 30 stalls. There is something for everyone included jewellery, homeware, children's toys and bird themed goodies. Christmas lights, a brass band and opportunities to sample local produce will all add to the festive feel!

The ninth annual Dalegate Christmas Market takes place on 1, 2 and 3 December, in the charming village of Burnham Deepdale. There will be more than 120 local artisans and producers setting out their stalls within three large marquees, the backpacker’s barn and St Mary’s church. An ideal chance to look for unusual gifts, decorations, jewellery, toys, books as well as enjoy seasonal food, drink and beer. There will also be plenty of entertainment throughout the weekend including live music. Entry and car parking is free.

As well as the Christmas fairs and markets, north Norfolk is superb for shopping in the run up to the festive season. Burnham Market, Holt, Wells, Sheringham and Cromer are great for Christmas shopping. 
Christmas shopping in Holt
The gift shops in venues across the area offer individual and delightful gifts and decorations. Pop to Pensthorpe Natural Park, Wroxham Barns and the National Trust’s Blickling Hall to browse in beautiful settings. Head to Holkham to the Courtyard Gift Shop where they are holding a Christmas Shopping Evening on 16 November between 4-8pm. For a family festive experience, the National Trust’s Felbrigg Hall is holding Carols in the Courtyard, which has become a Christmas tradition at the Hall. After a spot of shopping in their gift shop, you can join in with the carol singing to the accompaniment of the Cromer & Sheringham Brass Band.
For Christmas lights, Holt will be switching on their festive decorations on 15 November when the town will be covered in thousands of fairy lights. The Wells Christmas Tide Festival, on 2 December, will have stalls and entertainment with the lights being turned on at 5pm. The Christmas light switch on in Burnham Market is on 18 November where there will be stalls as well as the chance to shop in the boutiques in the village which will be staying open late. The Festival of Light in Reepham, on 7 December, sees the pretty market place turn on their Christmas lights.
