About

Picnic Fayre opened its doors in 1984 with the purpose of promoting as much locally produced food and drink as possible. Supporting local farmers, freshly made goods daily, including our incredibly popular signature sticky pear and ginger cake. A renowned favourite made with our very own recipe.

Stocking over 1000 products from baked goods made in house, to cheese, charcuterie, groceries, wine, locally sourced fruit and vegetables.

Proudly stocking fresh bread and pastries from ‘Baked in Cley’ lovingly made only a stones throw away from us here at Picnic Fayre. James has worked in some of Europe’s finest restaurants, including The Ritz, London. His passion lies in making sourdough and viennoiserie.

Over the years Picnic Fayre, has developed many exciting products, including the forever popular Chilli and Chocolate Spice Paste, many of which have been exported as far as Japan and the USA.

The delicatessen is unique, not just because of the historic Forge we are situated in but because we have a truly local atmosphere. Having been established for 35 years we now have three generations visiting us and it is very satisfying to see families returning year after year - nothing brings people together like good food.
