About

Sail with us under canvas on one of our locally-built wooden boats and explore North Norfolk’s wild, spectacular shores. It is adventurous and physically and mentally challenging! There are a few idyllic moments which make memories that last a lifetime, and an indulgent charter with friends and family is undoubtedly one of these.

Assist with navigation; forage and fish for your meals; visit special places that can only be accessed by sea and creek.
These aspects of our explorations mean you can profoundly connect with the landscape, its tidal rhythms and its diverse natural inhabitants in a way that wouldn’t ordinarily be possible.

You can experience:
Traditional sailing and rowing
Wild swimming
Foraging and preparing coastal food
Navigation (map, compass and celestial)
Fitness
Coastal field craft (spear, crab and line fishing)

With delicious food and drink served onboard, you and your guests will experience the beauty of the coastline and relax as we take care of your every need while you access remote and beautiful beaches, enjoy delicious high quality and locally sourced meals including afternoon tea and homemade cake and experience calm sailing routes through the creeks (with pick up from the pontoon).

If you want to re-energise your workplace, take a charter with the Coastal Exploration Company for a flipchart-free team building session.
We can provide leadership and high performance team coaching through our partnership with Mission Performance, one of the world’s leading transformational leadership and team development organisations. We’ll work together to sail one of our beautiful boats and create a day that will encompass strategy, physical activity and fun. By investing in your team’s focus and wellbeing you will develop greater sustainability for your organisation. Or invite your company’s clients for a corporate hospitality day that most definitely doesn’t involve a suit.

We commit to helping some of those less fortunate within our communities through assistances from external funding and using some of our resources.

recharge on wildlife

Working in partnership with the Norfolk Wildlife Trust we offer two routes from Wells-Next-the-Sea to their nature reserves in Holme to the West and Cley to the East.
Sail on either route along the coast and through lesser know creeks to observe as much of the abundant wildlife as possible, accompanied by a local wildlife expert. A locally sourced meal is served on route and then round the trip off with entry into one of the the NWT reserves.
trading
Our working boats can ship your product from the North Norfolk coast to Norwich and vice versa, and we even allow passengers to accompany us on the trading route.
Drop us a line and we would be happy to provide a bespoke journey and price to transport your goods.
