SPOOKY I SPY ON WELLS & WALSINGHAM LIGHT RAILWAY

Wells and Walsingham Light Railway will be running special Halloween Spooky I-Spy dates from 17 October 3 November 2020. Join in with the creepy trail and try to find clues down the line.

GET SET FOR A MAMMOTH CHALLENGE

Explore the Deep History Coast this this Autumn with the Mammoth Marathon Challenge! Like many events the inaugural Mammoth Marathon, which should have taken place in May 2020, has been postponed until 16 May 2021, but just because the marathon was cancelled doesn’t mean we can’t take up a new challenge!

Along the coast (or in your back garden or at the local park!), you can enjoy fun, active and imaginative challenges to get your body moving and your mind working. You have until the 1 December 2020 and the first 1000 people to complete the challenge will receive a genuine 2020 Mammoth Marathon medal alongside a challenge certificate. PUMPKIN FESTIVAL AT WROXHAM BARNS

There's lots of spooky fun at the pumpkin festival on Junior Farm over half term (22 October to 1 November 2020). There’s a free pumpkin for every child, unlimited rides on the newly refurbished fun park and join in with the potion and spell school with Wilma the Witch. Tickets MUST be booked online so capacity can be managed. Prices £11.95 per child inc pumpkin, adults £10.95 excluding pumpkin, additional pumpkins £1.50.

BECOME AN EERIE EXPLORER AT PENSTHORPE

Pop over to Pensthorpe Natural Park and become an Eerie Explorer; a brand new Halloween-inspired October half term family event, from 22 October to 1 November 2020. This Halloween-themed extravaganza is ideal for families and children of all ages. Discover the grim and gruesome side of nature, from creepy crawlies to the sinister sounds you hear outdoors! The event is a fun way to unravel your curiosity about nature and wildlife, in all of its dark and deadly forms.

Join the spooky trail, which will take you for a wander around the reserve and gardens. Keep looking behind you at all times and be careful not to wake sleeping predators that lurk in hedgerows, trees and grasslands! For serious thrills and spills pay a visit to wicked WildRootz, the award winning outdoor adventure play area packed with dens, tunnels, streams, towers and zip-wires!

Eerie Explorers at Pensthorpe

GLORIOUS GLOWING LANTERN PARADE AT BeWILDerwood

From 17 October to 1 November 2020, join BeWILDerwood for their most famous and fantastical event of the year (it's spooky not scary)! BeWILDerwood will glow like never before in a magical light extravaganza! Visit at dusk and see the park in a new light as well as enjoy tasty, warming snacks and a fantastical tale before embarking on a journey of WILD discovery. 

Make your own Boggle Bindle Lantern, then venture deep into the woods lit by Slitherigrubs in lanterns, look out for Boggles in the marshes and listen to the Twiggles in the trees, see the Thornyclod making marshmallows in his mud kitchen, Hazel casting spells high up in her witch’s house and Crocklebogs doing curiously crockleboggly things! Don’t be afraid to dress up as a nice witch, BeWILDerBat, Creepy Crawly or even a Crocklebog!

The Parade has scheduled time slots and is a separate ticketed event. Tickets need to be booked online but some may be available on the day if space allows.

Glorious Glowing Lantern Parade at Bewilderwood

GO AFLOAT WITH BROADS TOURS

Autumn is a great time to get out on the Broads, as the leaves are changing colour and the wintering birds are returning. Trips are running every day between 19 October to 1 November and depart at 11:00, 11:30, 14:00 and 14:30 for one and a half hours. The skipper will explain the history of the Broads, pointing out all the wildlife. Our passenger boats have been adapted to allow for social distancing and you will need to wear a face covering while onboard. Tickets are now sold as a space to accommodate your social bubble. Pre-booking is advisable. A wheelchair is welcome onboard and this space must be booked in advance. Bookings can be made online at www.broadstours.co.uk or call 01603 782207.

A GRIMM HALLOWEEN AT HOLKHAM

Once upon a time there lived two brothers, who collected sinister stories and terrifying fairy tales that only the bravest of children dare read; they were The Brothers Grimm. Head to Holkham for a Grimm inspired Halloween, where deep in the enchanted Walled Garden you’ll find mini-performances of Hansel and Gretel. Plus, spooky storytelling, pumpkin carving, witch-crafts, skele-trails and more! For the bravest children, there is a chance to get up close and creepy with the crawlies, and an opportunity to conquer the ropes course as dusk falls!

Halloween at Holkham

BIG ADVENTURES AT WROXHAM MINIATURE WORLDS

Visit the UK’s largest indoor modelling attraction, Wroxham Miniature Worlds, stretching over 10,000 square feet and see some of the largest model railways in the world! Admire the different ‘worlds’ of model railways, slot car displays, a whole city made from Lego bricks, model boat displays and a host of toys from across the decades. Enjoy the vintage penny arcade, interactive flight simulators, train simulators and more new railway layouts; some of which you can drive yourself. During October half term (and up to 31 December), one child per visit can be admitted for free.

HALLOWEEN DAYS AT ROARR! DINOSAUR ADVENTURE

Roarr! Dinosaur Adventure's popular Halloween Days event returns between 24 October and 1 November 2020. Dippy and his friends are busy preparing for some spooky fun across the park!

Join Vincent the Vampire at the graveyard for some spooky Halloween tales and begin your quest with the Dinomite gang – follow the clues to find out whether or not there is a werewolf in the woods!

In Dippy-ville, enjoy individual craft tables to create halloween witch crafts with Bobble-de-Boop the Witch (1 per child). Guests can also take part in the trail to find the Blue Skeleton Parts for the chance to win a Halloween prize.

Roarr! Dinosaur Adventure

BURE VALLEY RAILWAY

Get on track for half term fun with Bure Valley Railway. This October half term (24 October to 1 November 2020), children go free on Bure Valley Railway with a full return fare paying adult. Start from either Aylsham Station located in the historic market town, or Wroxham Station the home of the Norfolk Broads. Booking advisable to avoid disappointment.

FAIRHAVEN WOODLAND AND WATER GARDEN

There's ghoulish foolish half term fun at Fairhaven Woodland and Water Garden. On Halloween, 31 October 2020, get ready for the Foolhardy Circus; The Midnight Circus (that time forgot). Its midnight and once a year they wake up; cursed circus souls destined to perform for eternity, a strange collection of circus artistes trapped in a time loop.

Join clowns Cosmo and Lucas with their juggling routine, hold your breath at chair balancing, see Ruby Dagger and a ladder of swords and hula hoopist Joanne! Can they escape, or is this one last show just another macabre night of strangeness?

From 22 October to 1 November 2020, discover fun for all the family with a variety of activities across the Blickling Estate. Hire bikes or bring your own to enjoy the Autumnal grounds. Follow Percy The Park Keeper's story in the garden and explore the cosy house. You can enjoy the garden every day of the week and find secret tunnels, squishy trees and much more.
