RNLI Cromer

About

This free event focuses on the work of the Cromer RNLI volunteers.

The all-day event involves both lifeboat stations being open for visitors where the charity's D class and Tamar class lifeboats can be viewed. Plus the lifeboats will launch as part of the day's activities, and will include an exciting demonstration involving the lifeguards.

There will be a range of stalls along the promenade - all from 10am featuring RNLI souvenirs, cakes and more. Plus there will be a commemorative service of thanksgiving at 2pm at the inshore lifeboat (ILB) station at the bottom of the Gangway.

During the day, as well as meeting some of the volunteer crew, it's an opportunity to meet and find out more about water safety plus what the other rescue services do in Cromer, including RNLI lifeguards, HM Coastguard and Coastwatch.

For children there is an opportunity to meet Stormy Stan, the RNLI's mascot, or dress up in crew outfits, and there are a number of stalls provided by the fundraising guild with treasure hunts, cakes and much more.

Music will be provided by the Sheringham Shantymen, The Walker Brothers, and Brass Band 'I dunno'.
