Site Features

  • Building of historical interest - North Cottage Cromer was originally built as the schoolmaster's house for Cromer Free School on the Overstrand Road (the building still stands today). Later it was considerably extended by the wealthy Hoare family who used it as a holiday home. They also owned the North Lodge. The current North Lodge park was previously the private estate of the two houses. The current North Lodge Park Friend's cafe was the mews block for the properties.
  • Garden - North Cottage Cromer has a large walled garden, totally enclosed and safe for children (when the gates are closed). There is also a slate paved courtyard garden with pots and feature planting.

Cromer has a railway station with frequent trains to Norwich and intermediate stops (Gunton, North Walsham) connecting to the rest of the nationwide rail network via Anglia Trains. Norwich Airport is 20 miles away, around 30 minutes by car or taxi, 45 minutes by bus. Cromer has a bus station with a frequent service to Norwich and other destinations along the coastal road.
