It has been modernised and extended to incorporate hotel bed and breakfast accommodation. There is a spacious conservatory restaurant leading to a sundeck terrace which faces east to west where you can sit and see the sun rise or the magnificence of the sun setting across the tidal marsh to Scolt Head. There is also a landscaped sunken garden with all day 'al fresco' eating with sheltered canopy at the front of the building. Inside the furnishings are of contemporary rustic style - scrubbed pine furniture, open log fire in winter, character photographs of days gone by adorn the walls, comfortable lounge area and charming 'locals' bar. In fact, a charming modern style of Inn, which keeps abreast of the times but still has character and serves real ale, and a good selection of wines by the glass and has bar skittles in bar. You can choose to eat in the 2 Rosette restaurant or make your choice from the bar menu. Where uncomplicated quality food is served from the freshest local produce. Ideal for walkers, cyclists, and those who like to be nearer the great outdoors. Rooms have an entrance wooded floor area for those muddy boots or dog beds and are built into a curved annexe building, which has a grassed roof to blend in with the marshland beyond.
