Enter our prize draw to win a night in the city of Norwich and a night on the north Norfolk coast! The wonderful prize is for two people to spend a night with breakfast at The Assembly House in Norwich followed by a night with breakfast at The Grove, Cromer, just minutes from the beach.
The geography of Norfolk means in one 3-day break you can enjoy the cultured capital Norwich, with its historic architecture, iconic attractions, independent stores, great local food and drink and cosy city pubs. Then in less than 45 minutes you can be on the coast at Cromer enjoying long beach walks, fresh fish seaside restaurants with views and miles of glorious coastline bursting with nature.
Your first day's stay in the city
Arrive in Norwich ahead of check-in to make the most of your stay and make your first stop the 900-year-old Romanesque Norwich Cathedral. Grab an electric-roasted coffee and a freshly baked pastry from The Refectory and you’re ready to explore. Join a compelling complimentary 1-hour tour, view contemporary installations at Art in the Close and keep your eye out for medieval graffiti. All of this sits in England’s largest Close, while also boasting the largest monastic cloisters too. Beautiful. Take a walk across Tombland (Norse for open space) and turn into picture perfect Elm Hill - Norwich’s most complete medieval street with its quaint half-timbered buildings, and charming shops.
From here make your way for lunch at the deli wine bar in Jarrolds independent department store or wander ancient Norwich Market with its artisanal international food stalls. Finish on the market by people watching with a beer in hand at Sir Toby’s Beers.

Complete your day shopping at Jarrolds, The Royal Arcade and Atwin - a consciously curated womenswear and lifestyle store championing British independent designers and artisans. For dinner book ahead for fine dining restaurants Benedicts, Brix and Bones and The Last Restaurant & Wine Bar. Or try Norwich’s contemporary food hall Yalm which has six local kitchens and a bar.

Second day at the north Norfolk coast
Before the short journey north to Cromer make sure you visit Norwich Castle with its recently re-opened medieval Keep. Experience this royal palace as it once was 900 years ago with recreated room settings alongside interactive and immersive digital experiences telling stories of medieval Norwich life like never before and The Gallery of Medieval Life a partnership with The British Museum.
When you arrive at the north Norfolk coast. check in for your second night at The Grove, Cromer, a charming, family-run Georgian country house hotel set in the picturesque seaside town of Cromer. Guests can enjoy 2 AA Rosette dining in The Garden Rooms, which focuses on local home-grown produce, beautiful gardens, an indoor swimming pool, and a five-minute woodland walk leading directly to the beach. The Grove provides a relaxing, welcoming atmosphere for families, couples, and groups wishing to explore the north Norfolk coast.
Once checked in, take the private path to Cromer beach and enjoy a stroll along Cromer Pier where you can have a bite to eat, see amazing sea views and enjoy the Cromer Pier Show. Cromer is part of the Deep History Coast and has its own Discovery Point where you can find out more about the coastline's history from millions of years ago.
Take a wander around the town where the streets and alleys are bustling with shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants where you can enjoy the famous Cromer crab. Unmissable on the skyline is the tower of 14th century church St Peter & Paul with vast stained glass windows commemorating Cromer's lifeboat crew, the most decorated in RNLI history.
For the afternoon, take a wander around Amazona Zoo, home to over 200 tropical animals or take to the water with Glide Surf School for a surf or SUP lesson. Then head back to Cromer Pier where you can watch the sun set on a perfect weekend away.

Terms and conditions: The prize is for two adults travelling together to stay one night with breakfast at The Assembly House in Norwich and one night at The Grove, Cromer. Nights must be taken consecutively. The prize must be taken before 31 October 2026 and is subject to availability. Dates exclude English Bank Holidays and 20 December 2025 to 23 January 2026 and 3 to 5 April 2026 and 14 February 2026. There is no cash alternative. Travel to and inbetween the accommodation is the responsibility of the entrant. The prize draw closes at 23:59 on 9 November 2025 and the winner will be notified on or after 10 November 2025 by email to the address provided. If there is no response from the winner after three working days, the prize will be reallocated. Prize has no monetary value, is non-transferable.
