For the first time this summer, Wolterton Hall will host a thrilling open-air performance of Shakespeare's Macbeth, brought to life by the acclaimed Duke's Theatre Company. Set against the breathtaking backdrop of Wolterton's south lawn, overlooking the magnificent Charles Bridgeman-designed lake, this production promises a powerful and unforgettable evening on Friday, 29th August.
Directed by Robert Shaw Cameron, whose credits include Coronation Street and Regent's Park Open Air Theatre, and designed by Jessica Curtis (Hampstead Theatre, Almeida Theatre, National Theatre), Macbeth features a tight-knit cast of six outstanding actors delivering a gripping take on ambition, madness, and fate.
Described by Brighton as "Sold out? Of course it's sold out – it's terrific!" and praised by BBC Radio Wiltshire for "setting a new standard for open air theatre," this production blends contemporary edge with Shakespeare's timeless themes in an intimate, immersive setting.
