Dementia Friendly Walks

  1. Brancaster Walk

    This circular walk is is approximately 0.44km along the West Bank path (120m), meadow trail (100m) and fen trail (220m) of RSPB Titchwell Marsh giving you the opportunity to take in big skies, bird-filled reed beds, lagoons and marshes. This walk has features designed to be accessible for people living with dementia: hard flat surfaces underfoot, wide walkways, seating during route, no steps, close pay & display car park with blue badge parking and sheltered seating, toilets and refreshments at the starting point.

  2. Cromer Walk

    This circular walk is approximately 1.1km along Cromer Esplanade, taking in the famous Cromer Pier, beach, seafront and gardens. There is a long slope at the start and end of the walk and has features designed to be accessible for people living with dementia: flat hard surfaces underfoot, handrails along any inclines, lots of seating to rest and a display car park close by with spaces for blue badge holders

  3. Heacham Walk

    This walk is also circular and is approximately 0.75km along the Norfolk Lavender gardens, taking in the lavender fields, Heacham river, trees and Caley mill. This walk has features designed to be accessible for people living with dementia: flat hard surfaces underfoot, no inclines, wide walkways, seating during route, no steps, refreshments and toilets at start point and a car park 50m from start point for disabled badge holders.

  4. Hunstanton Walk

    This circular walk is approximately 1.25km along Hunstanton promenade, where you can enjoy the sea and beach, wide open green areas and a war memorial. This walk has a short slope to the memorial gardens and has features designed to be accessible for people living with dementia: flat hard surfaces underfoot, some slight gradients, walkways, regular seating during route, no steps, refreshments at start point and cafes on route, toilets next to car park and starting point and just before the war memorial and car park 50m from start point for disabled badge holders.

  5. North Walsham Walk

    This out and back walk is approximately 0.72km through North Walsham Memorial Park with play parks, wide open green areas and a war memorial. This walk has features designed to be accessible for people living with dementia: flat hard surfaces underfoot, wide walkways, regular seating during route, no steps, refreshments and toilets at start point, parking in front of library (free for library users) with disabled bays five metres from starting point.

  6. Sheringham Walk

    This is also an out and back walk and is approximately 1.16km along Sheringham promenade, giving a beautiful view of the sea and beach as well as the town, beach huts and Sheringham Museum. This walk has a long slope at the seafront and has features designed to be accessible for people living with dementia: flat hard surfaces underfoot, slight slope to promenade, wide walkways, regular seating during route, no steps, refreshments and toilets at start point and throughout route and pay & display parking 20 metres from starting point with disabled bays.
