Details

What’s it like?
A marsh can be anything from a grazed grassland to a head-high reedbed - you’ll find both here. You can start at Church Lane or the moorings. If you are parking in Church Lane please don’t block any entrances to properties. There are information boards to tell you about the wildlife and history of the marshes.

What wildlife lives there?
Watch out for a marsh harrier floating over the marshes looking for unwary prey.

What else is there to see?
Part of the Dutch Tea Gardens area is grazed by Polish ponies belonging to the Suffolk Wildlife Trust. This grazing helps to manage the marsh for wild flowers such as marsh marigolds and birds such as bearded tits. Please keep dogs on a lead on the grazing land.

Did you know?
The Dutch Tea Gardens site was once operated as a tea room and ice was brought down to it along the track which now leads to the moorings. It is known locally as the Ice Track.
