about visit north norfolk

Visit North Norfolk, a membership organisation, is the official Destination Management Organisation (DMO) for the area, operating on a not-for-profit basis and delivering the official tourism website and marketing activity for North Norfolk District Council.

Visit North Norfolk, is the accredited authoritative DMO for north Norfolk and is affiliated with Visit Britain.

DMOs are organisations charged with representing a specific destination and helping the long-term development of the local visitor economy through targeted and strategic campaigns. Visit North Norfolk delivers two key aspects to grow the local visitor economy, which is worth £529m and supports nearly 12,000 jobs: support for businesses and the promotion of the area to potential visitors, providing a major channel for communication, support and access to market for the tourism industry.

Visit North Norfolk develops marketing campaigns to promote all that the area has to offer at local, regional and national levels. It also works in partnership with other DMOs in the east of England to create regional marketing promotions for Norfolk and Suffolk.

Marketing activity is supported by North Norfolk District Council and private business sponsorship and its core business is self-sustaining through business membership funding. Visit North Norfolk is a business-led DMO, operated by a group of local business leaders (in partnership with North Norfolk District Council). This meets the Government's stated direction of encouraging businesses to become more directly responsible for tourism promotion.

The board comprises the following directors:
Chair: Andrew Hird, General Manager of Woodland Holiday Park
Mark Noble, Trustee of Pensthorpe Conservation Trust
Bee Hopkins, former owner of The Hoste
Robert Young, Head of Economic & Community Development at North Norfolk District Council.
