February is a fantastic time of year to visit north Norfolk. Spring is on the way, the beaches are quieter and there’s lots of events to keep the family entertained during the school holidays. Scira Viking Festival at Sheringham from 16 Feb to 22 February.
This annual festival celebrates Sheringham's historical viking links. Enjoy street battle re-enactments, torch light parades and boat burning. Design and make your version of a Viking shield, make your own set of Runes, listen to the old Norse sagas and adventures of the Viking gods. Build and sail away in your own Viking longboat after discovering how the Vikings managed to navigate their way to Iceland and the Americas. Great family entertainment.

Bogglewish Bonfire at Bewilderwood from 16 to 24 February.
Scramble through the Sky Maze, race across the Broken Bridge and make your way to the fireside with a pinecone you have found in the park. Write a wish for someone you love, and send it into the flames through a whirly-gig! Make your own Wish Whirler in the Big Hat and visit the Face Painting Pavilion, enjoy storytelling and meet the characters of BeWILDerwood.
Home Tweet Home at Pensthorpe Natural Park from 16 to 24 February.
Celebrate National Nest Box Week (14 -21 February) by exploring Pensthorpe’s nest box trail. Learn about the native wildlife and discover how you can encourage birds to nest in your garden. And don’t forget to head indoors to Hootz House for some wonderful wildlife play.
Signs of Spring Week at Fairhaven Woodland and Water Garden from 16 to 24 February.
Explore the 130 acres of cultivated, wild and natural plantings. Walk the four miles of woodland pathways while taking in views over the private Broad and see if you can spot signs of Spring.

Children go Free for February Half Term with Broads Tours from 16 to 24 February.
Take a trip on the Broads and enjoy a free ride for children! The boat skipper will give a live commentary, retelling the history of the Broads National Park and pointing out all the wildlife; don’t forget to tick them all off on your bird spotting sheet! Max two free children per every full paying adult.

Fantasy February at Roarr! Dinosaur Adventure from 18 to 24 February.
Children are invited to dress up as their favourite fantasy character (fairies, ogres, trolls and unicorns to give you a few ideas) and gain 50% off the gate admission price. Enjoy workshops with the Fairyland Trust, where you can make butterflies, bats and owls. (£1 per child; taking place every 15 minutes between 10.30am and 12.30pm and then 1.30pm and 3.30pm). Roarr! Dinosaur Adventure

Meet a Hedgehog (18 February, 10.30 to 1pm): Join Marian Grimes from Hedgehog Haven and her prickly friends to learn about Marian’s rescue centre, the secret lives of hedgehogs and how we can help protect this endangered species.
Bird Box Making (22 February 10.30 to 12.30pm): Encourage birds into your garden by building a wooden bird box and making your own bird food concoction. Then head out to the reserve to practice your bird watching skills. (Booking essential).
Half Term Fun at Wroxham Barns from 16 to 24 February.
Meet the new lambs on the farm and help the team to bottle-feed at 11am, 1.30pm and 3.30pm. New for 2019 is Lambing Live, where you have the chance to see the lambs being born. There’s a full timetable of hands-on activities all day that also includes guinea pig cuddling, pony grooming and watch the piggery feed. The Barny Show is on daily at 11.30am and 2.30 pm as the Junior Farm mascot hosts “woolly” lamb fun with singing and dancing in Bella’s Barn too.
The Family Fun park will be open with rides as well as the 18-hole Championship Mini Adventure Golf Course. Get your Refundable Fun Pass at the kiosk with a £1 deposit and add as many credits as you’d like.
