About
Jacob Jobe is feeling unwell, but he has his wayward daughter's Teddy bear to comfort him and his best friend to steer him doggedly back onto the "right" path. Meanwhile, romance blossoms, the last pint of cider is drunk, and as Jobe sinks ever deeper into despair he seeks a fair trial from God- whilst the Devil searches desperately for a chocolate biscuit…
Ten years ago, local Vicar, writer and director, Dean Akrill, wrote "Fuzzy", a very personal Play drawn from his own experiences, particularly focusing on faith and mental health. Originally performed in 2014, "Fuzzy" is returning this May to St. Cuthbert's Church in Sprowston, which has a long history of presenting local amateur theatre.
"Fuzzy" is a contemporary play inspired by the book of Job. Featuring a cast of talented local amateur actors, the Play combines both pathos and humour to tell the tale of Jacob Jobe, a man whose certainties about God and humanity are gradually eroded during his stay in a psychiatric hospital. The play explores many different areas of human experience, including mental health, sexuality and faith. Fuzzy is a Play about fuzziness, about our attempts to make life less fuzzy, and what happens when we think we've got life, love and God finally sussed… Fuzzy is certain to entertain, provoke and challenge!
Fuzzy will be performed on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th May, 7.00pm at St. Cuthbert's, Wroxham Road, Sprowston. Tickets are £5.00 on the door. Refreshments will be available.
Please note that "Fuzzy" is not recommended for persons under the age of 15.
