Blakeney Regatta and Greasy Pole Challenge

About

Blakeney Sailing Regatta includes the greasy pole challenge, which dates back to 1873 when the prize for winning was a hog! Now, people take part simply for the challenge to see who can make it to the end of the pole without falling in the water.

There are lots of other fun activities including tug of war as the tide comes in, gilly catching, swimming races and a sandcastle competition. It's a full day of family fun – all for free.
